Erika-Jayne Todd is the proud owner and founder of EJT Dance. With over 16 years of teaching experience, Erika’s journey in dance education began long before the doors of the EJT Dance studio opened. What started as a childhood dream has grown into a thriving dance school that has been part of the Elgin community for the past 8 years and continues to flourish.
Erika earned her first teaching qualification from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) at just 18 years old, solidifying her commitment to a career in dance education. Since then, her passion for teaching and her drive to provide the highest quality dance training has only grown. Over the years, she has achieved numerous qualifications with both the ISTD (in Tap and Modern Theatre Dance) and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in Ballet. She currently holds Licentiate status with the ISTD in both Modern and Tap. A Licentiate is a formal recognition of professional competence. It's a significant achievement, placed between a bachelor's and a doctoral level qualification.
Never one to rest on her achievements, Erika continues to pursue professional development and has her sights set on tutoring and mentoring the next generation of dance educators.
In addition to her dance credentials, Erika is also a qualified Level 2 Fitness Instructor, Zumba Instructor, and Acrobatic Arts teacher. Her commitment to ongoing learning reflects her desire to be the best possible leader, teacher, and role model for her students.
In 2024, Erika embraced another exciting role, becoming a mum. A familiar face around the studio, her daughter, Oakley, already shares a love for music and movement, often captivated by the dancers around her. Erika takes great pride in creating an environment where her daughter and every student can feel inspired, supported, and empowered.
From its humble beginnings to a well-established studio, EJT Dance Studio has been built on a foundation of passion, hard work, and community. Under Erika’s powerful leadership, the studio continues to grow, providing a space where young dancers are encouraged to dream big, work hard, and discover the joy of dance.
